This is definitely the perfect time to see what the future brings for the San Francisco Giants, and it could not be that far away.
Pablo Sandoval drove in five runs, as the Giants erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on their way to a 11-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Sandoval was one of six rookies inserted into the starting lineup by Bruce Bochy in the finale of the three-game series.
In that fourth inning, the Giants picked up 10 runs on nine hits, the most runs scored by the Giants in a single inning since they scored 10 runs in the second inning on September 22, 2003 against the Houston Astros.
The 10 runs by the Giants in the fourth inning is the biggest inning for the Giants since they moved to AT&T Park back in 2000.
Emmanuel Burris and Nate Schierholtz each had two hits in the inning, while Randy Winn and Schierholtz scored two runs in the innings.
The only downside to this big victory was the pitching of Jonathan Sanchez, who was out of the game by the top of the fourth inning.
Sanchez threw 78 pitches in three innings, giving up three runs (two of them earned) and five hits.
Osiris Matos pitched one inning to pickup his first major league victory.
