It may not have the same magnitude as Barry Bonds 756th home run last season, but Randy Winn reached a personal milestone against the Atlanta Braves.
Winn hit his sixth home run of the season off of Will Ohman in the top of the eighth inning, but more importantly it was the 100th home run of the season for the former Santa Clara Broncos basketball star and the San Francisco Giants defeated the Braves 5-1 at Turner Field.
Besides hitting his sixth home run of the season, Winn also added three more hits for a four-hit game and drove in two runs, as the Giants broke their four-game losing streak and sent the Braves to their fifth consecutive defeat.
Matt Cain pitched absolutely fantastic, as he went seven innings, giving up one run on six hits, and struck out five on his way to his eighth win of the season.
Winn was not the only Giants player to have a four-hit game, as Bengie Molina also picked up four hits and also drove in two runs.
The 15 hits by the Giants were one short of a season high.
Molina got the Giants on the board in the first inning, when he singled in Fred Lewis off of eventual loser Jair Jurrjens.
