SAN FRANCISCO-Ike Davis along with Buster Posey are the front-runners for the National League Rookies of the Year along with Stephen Strasburg.

Davis came up with a huge double off of closer Brian Wilson in the top of the tenth inning to score David Wright, as the New York Mets salvaged the finale of this four-game series with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings.

Travis Ishikawa doubled in two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie up the game, after it looked like the Giants would see their five-game winning streak come to an end.

Pablo Sandoval walked to lead off the inning, Juan Uribe doubled and then Ishikawa doubled into the gap in right field to tie up the game.

Ishikawa was thrown out at the plate by David Wright on a ball hit by Freddy Sanchez, but the replays clearly showed that Ishikawa got underneath the tag in what would have been the winning run.

All of those his came off of closer Francisco Rodriguez, who blew his fifth save of the season, but was able to pickup his third win of the season after the Mets scored the game-winning run in the top of the 10th inning.

Wright hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning off of Jonathan Sanchez, it was the 15th home run of the season for Wright.

Posey gave the Giants the lead in the first inning, as he hit a sacrifice fly off of Johan Santana to give the Giants a quick 1-0 lead.

Santana’s streak of 16.0 innings came to an end, when Sanchez crossed the plate with the initial Giants run of the afternoon.

Sanchez singled with one out, and Aubrey Huff singled that sent Sanchez to third base and then Posey hit a sacrifice fly to Jeff Francoeur in right field.

Angel Pagan tied it up in the top of the third inning ,as he hit a ground-rule double to centerfield that scored Ruben Tejada, who walked with one out.

Santana went eight innings, allowing one run, on eight hits, while walking one and striking out five; however he did not fare in the decision.

Sanchez went seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out five; however he was not involved in the decision.

With his single in the bottom of the sixth inning, Posey extended his hitting streak up to 12 games and he is just the third Giants rookie to have two double-digit hitting streaks in a season.

Posey joins Orlando Cepeda (17-game and 13-game) in 1958 and Chili Davis (15-game and 11-game) in 1982.

He is also the National League rookie to accomplish the feat this season, and joins Austin Jackson of the Detroit Tigers to turn the trick.

Davis continued his hot hitting, as he smashed a double down the right field line to score Justin Turner and give the Mets a two-run lead.

NOTES: Madison Bumgarner head to the mound on Monday night, as the Giants play the first of three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Ishikawa is now 11-for-23 (.478) as a pinch hitter this season.

This was the first time that the Giants won a season series from the Mets since the 2002 National League Championship Season, as they went 7-4 in 11 games against the New Yorkers this season.
