If the San Francisco Giants want to stay in the National League pennant race, they have got to start hitting with regularity.
Jhoulys Chacin went six innings, and Dexter Fowler picked up his second straight three-hit game and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Giants 6-3 at Coors Field.
It was the seventh consecutive loss for the Giants, and nine out of 10 for the Orange and Black, who suddenly find themselves in fourth place.
The one bright for the Giants was Aubrey Huff, the first time since June 13 against the Oakland A’s at AT&T Park that Huff hit two home runs in a game.
Tim Lincecum went six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out four and also walked four, as he saw his record fall to 8-4 on the season.
Buster Posey picked up two hits in three at-bats, as he started at first base and Eli Whiteside was behind the plate to catch Lincecum.
