Photo Arrieta dominates Giants

SAN FRANCISCO-In his first ever start against the San Francisco Giants, Jake Arrieta looked like tomorrow’s Giants starter, Tim Lincecum.

Arrieta gave up just one run on three hits, as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Giants 4-1 before 35,498 at AT&T Park.

The Orioles got to Giants starter Joe Martinez, starting in place of the injured Todd Wellemeyer in the first inning, as Ty Wigginton grounded out to Pablo Sandoval at third base to score Corey Patterson, who led off the game with a single to left field.

Wigginton picked up the Orioles run batted in of the evening in the top of the third inning, as he grounded to Juan Uribe to score former Oakland A’s shortstop Miguel Tejada, who singled with one out.

Sandoval got the Giants on the board in the bottom of the third inning, as he slammed a solo home run off of Arrieta over the right -center field wall for his sixth home run of the season.

Martinez went 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out two in his first start of the season.

Adam Jones hit his eighth home run of the season ,a solo blast that put the Orioles up by two runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The Orioles would add another run in the top of the fifth inning, as Wigginton grounded into a double play that scored Patterson.
