Now that the Giants' offense has at least momentarily gotten out of its hibernation, it's time to take the act on the road.
The bats responded for Matt Cain on Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies after scoring only one run in the two previous games combined, just in time to salvage one win in the three-game series against their National League West rival.
To start the road trip, the Giants start with a manageable opponent in the Pittsburgh Pirates (22-31), who have had two days off after having their series finale against the Chicago Cubs rained out on Wednesday.
Jonathan Sanchez (3-4, 2.90 ERA) will take the mound against Pirates lefty Zach Duke (3-5, 5.09 ERA). Todd Wellemeyer will start Saturday's game, and for the Sunday finale, Tim Lincecum will try to get his timing and rhythm back as he takes the hill, trying to shake off three straight un-memorable starts.
