SAN FRANCISCO--When you look at the mug shot of Bryan Stow beating suspect Giovanni Ramirez with the tattoos on his neck you might be not be like the blind justice lady trying to keep the scales even but for Ramirez Police have not pressed charges against him and he's being currently held on a $1 million bond for a parole violation.

Ramirez who was arrested twice for felony counts including assault says he's innocent in the Stow beatings and that he was not even at Dodgers Stadium on March 31st the night of the beating. The story has taken on world wide publicity and some Dodgers fans and visiting fans from other clubs wondered why it took so long finally for the Dodgers to put a stop to all the fighting and taunting that goes on at a Dodgers home game.

The publicity of the Stow case certainly enlightened things and now the Dodgers after many years of abuse to the fans by other fans have tightened security. Ramirez however says he was not at the stadium at the time of the beatings and L.A. Police do not have a data base of Ramirez' tattoos which includes a tear drop under the left eye, a dollar sign and an L.A. Dodgers logo.

The question here in this case can the LAPD prove they have the right man in custody. In the past circumstantial evidence might have totaled up to ones guilt. In this case you have a high profile case where the suspect may have identifiable tattoos but it is not in the data base.

Information on witnesses identifying Ramirez has not been clear by the department on the exact description of the tattoos, if Ramirez was ever picked out of a line up, and if he was fingered as the main suspect in the Stow beating. Ramirez who has not been charged with the Stow beating and the 48 hour time line has elapsed is now putting doubt if the police can charge Ramirez in the Stow beating at all.

L.A. Police Chief Charlie Beck said he was sure that they have the right suspect but again police have not made any charges on Ramirez in the beating case and they are holding Ramirez for a minor parole violation and have said that at the time of capture that he was in possession of a fire arm a parole violation. Ramirez for that violation could face up to 12 months in jail but that hasn't even been determined yet.

Ramirez' lawyer said that his family can verify he was at his aunt's house on the night of the beating baby sitting his daughter. One of Ramirez' parole agents noticed that Ramirez had covered up some of his tattoos on his neck with newer tattoos. Police need to make the identifiable tattoos stick or they will have a hard time trying to charge Ramirez with the Stow beating.

One male suspect who assisted Ramirez in the Stow beating is still at large and police are looking for the woman driver also at large. The only thing police have to go on for the second suspect is a composite sketch. There is no sketch of the woman driver and there was also no license plates take from the get away vehicle by witnesses.
