OAKLAND-Not only were the brooms brought out in Chicago for the San Jose Sharks, but they also made an appearance in Oakland for the San Francisco Giants.
Jake Fox drove in Adam Rosales with the only run that the Oakland A’s would need, as the A’s completed a three-game sweep over the Giants with a 3-0 victory before a sellout crowd of 35,067 at the Coliseum, the second consecutive sellout of the series.
The Giants have now lost four in a row, and five out of their last six, all of which came on this recent road trip thru San Diego, Arizona and Oakland.
Kurt Suzuki hit a single in the bottom of the eighth inning to score former Giants outfielder Rajai Davis, who led off the inning with a walk.
After a Daric Barton sacrifice for the first out of the inning, Kevin Kouzmanoff and Adam Rosales, with the latter driving in Suzuki for the second A’s run of the inning.
Ben Sheets went the first six innings, not allowing a run on just two hits, while walking two and striking out eight.
Michael Wuertz came on to pitch the seventh inning, walking one and striking out one, as he notched his first win of the season.
Jonathan Sanchez went seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits, walking five and striking out four, as he lost for the fourth time this season.
