OAKLAND-Barry Zito may have been off to a great start this season for the San Francisco Giants, but there is one Achilles heel for the left-hander.

That one Achilles heel is the team that he played for from 2000-2006, the Oakland A’s, where he won the 2002 American League Cy Young Award.

Former Giants outfielder Rajai Davis hit a two-run double to right field that eluded right fielder Andres Torres to score Adam Rosales and Cliff Pennington, as the A’s defeated the Giants 6-1 before 33,369 in the opener of the annual Bay Bridge series at the Coliseum.

Coco Crisp, playing in his first game as a member of the A’s added a sacrifice fly off of Zito in the bottom of the third inning.

Ryan Sweeney singled in Daric Barton with the A’s fourth run of the evening off of Zito in the bottom of the sixth inning, as the A’s put an end to their modest two-game losing streak.

Trevor Cahill went 6.2 innings, allowing one run on six hits, walking one and striking out four and won his second game of the season.

On the other side of things, Zito went also 6.2 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, walking one and striking out three and lost for just the second time this season.

Zito is now 0-4 all-time since leaving the Green and Gold for the Orange and Black after the 2006 season, where he signed a lucrative seven-year $126 million contract.

Torres got the Giants on the board in the top of the seventh inning with two outs, as Torres drove in John Bowker, who singled just in front of Torres.

It was the second double of the game for Torres, who continues to play solid baseball, despite the fact that the Giants have now lost four out of their last five games.

Davis picked up his third run batted in of the evening ,as he hit a sacrifice fly off of Zito in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Following the Davis sacrifice fly, Crisp hit a double off the left-center field wall to score Pennington from first base with the A’s second run of the inning.

NOTES: Before the game, the A’s honored Dallas Braden, as they celebrated the left-hander’s perfect game that took place on May 9, 2010.

Braden will receive a ring with 51 diamonds around Braden’s face and another 27 in honor of how many outs in a game.

The City of Oakland declared today as “Dallas Braden Day,” as he received a proclamation from Mayor Ron Dellums.

To make room for Crisp on the roster, the A’s optioned Landon Powell to Sacramento, but before being sent to the Rivercats, Powell received his glove that he used in the perfect game in a glass case from A’s manager Bob Geren.

In another move by the A’s., right-handed pitcher Edwar Ramirez out righted to the Rivercats, and right-hander Chad Gaudin was released.

Santiago Casilla was recalled by the Giants from the Fresno Grizzlies, as Casilla was called up to replace Brandon Medders, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 20) with inflammation in his right knee.
