SAN FRANCISCO-This was probably the ugliest games of the season for the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres, and granted it is just May 11; however nothing can be as bad.

The two teams combined for mind-boggling 26 runners, but the Padres were able to score one more run than the Giants and hung on to defeat the Giants 3-2 before 33,249 at AT&T Park.

On the evening ,the Padres left the bases loaded on three different occasions against the Giants pitching staff that saw Barry Zito last just five innings.

In those five innings of work, Zito gave up three runs on six hits ,while walking seven and striking out, as he lost for the first time this season.

Zito tied a career-high, as he walked seven batters on the evening.

The Padres finally got on the board in the top of the third inning, as they scored two runs in the top of the second inning.

Pablo Sandoval tripled in the bottom of the third inning, and then scored the Giants first run of the evening, as Aubrey Huff hit an opposite field single.

Former Giants catcher Yorvit Torrealba drove in the Padres third and final run of the evening, as Kyle Blanks scored Torrealba’s single.

Blanks walked with one out in the fifth inning, stole second and then scored

The Giants tried to make a game out of it, as Huff doubled to left field and then Juan Uribe tripled to score Huff form second base.

After that, the Giants were not able to muster anything and fell a game and a half behind the front-running Padres in the National League West.

Eli Whiteside came on to run for Bengie Molina in the bottom of the seventh inning, and promptly stole his first career stolen base.
