Guillermo Mota served up a pitch that Henry Blanco put in the left field bleachers to end the game in the last of the 11th inning.

The game was interesting on few levels.

Todd Wellemeyer started for the Giants and went through five plus frames. He issued four walks and hit one batter. These free passes led to each of the Mets four runs.

Johan Santana threw eight innings for the Mets and gave up three runs through seven plus innings..

Bengie Molina departed the game very early with what was called a 'tight left hamstring.' Eli Whiteside replaced him.

Indeed, the Mets scored their first three runs on but one hit. Their lead was 4-2 when the Giants came back.

A sacrafice hit by Aubrey Huff scored Andres Torres with the first run in the 4th, then Juan Uribe singled home Pablo Sandoval.

In the 8th Nate Shierholtz scored on a long fly by Sandoval. Whiteside's single scored Aaron Rowand for the fourth run.

The New York Mets have now won 12 of the past 15 games they have played.

The game was played in very windy conditions, although it was sunny.
