"We are not clicking offensively. We need someone to get us going."

So says Manager Bruce Bochy, as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Francisco Giants 2-0 in front of 40,230 fans at PacBell Park.

The hit of the game was a long home run to left in the first inning by Albert Pujols. You knew he'd be trouble sooner or later in this series.

Both teams had nine hits, but the Giants had two hits only in the seventh inning.

Ex-Giant Brad Penny allowed the Giants eight hits in 7 2/3 innings. Penny is 3-0 this year. "Penny threw well today", said Bochy.

Hard Luck Matt Cain allowed two runs off six hits, throwing 98 pitches in those five innings. "Cain did not have as good a command of his fast ball.", said Bochy.

It was sunny and 69 degrees at game time. Would you say perfect?

3B Pablo Sandoval went 3 for 4 with a double.

The Giants await the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at PacBelll Park. As Bochy says, "The Phillies are a solid, balanced team."
