What a great way for the Stanford Cardinal to start the Pac-10 conference season than with a win over a quality opponent, on the road no less.
Anthony Goods scored 14 points, including 12 in the second half, as the Cardinal defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 71-60 at the Wells Fargo Arena on the campus of Arizona State University.
Taj Finger added 14 points, while Lawrence Hill scored 13 and in his first ever Pac-10 game, freshman Landry Fields scored 11, all coming in the first half.
The game was decided at the free throw line, as the Cardinal made 24-of-35, while the Sun Devils went to the line only 17 times in the game and made 11.
