What a way for Brook Lopez to make his return to the floor for the Stanford Cardinal.
In his first game back for the Cardinal against the Santa Clara Broncos, the sophomore from Fresno scored 20 points.
Lopez hit two free throws with 1:55 remaining in the game, as the Cardinal held on to defeat the Texas Tech Red Raiders 62--61 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Lopez scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half, as the Cardinal made it 10 wins in their first 11 games.
This was the first game that the Cardinal won by single digits this season, as they won their first nine games by a whopping average of 21 points.
The Red Raiders had a chance to tie up the game, but Lopez blocked a Alan Voskuil layup.
The Cardinal turned the ball over, but John Roberson threw a bad pass.
Lopez was then fouled and hit one of two free throws to give the Cardinal a three-point lead.
After a Roberson missed three pointer, Mitch Johnson then hit one of two free throws to give the Cardinal a four-point lead with 10 seconds remaining.
Voskuil then hit a three-pointer to narrow the score to one, but the Cardinal were able to get the ball in and the Red Raiders were unable to foul before the final buzzer.
Anthony Goods and Robin Lopez each scored 10 for the Cardinal.
