This was definitely not the way that Jim Harbaugh wanted his era as the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal to begin.
Ben Olson threw five touchdowns, as the 14th ranked UCLA Bruins pasted the Cardinal 45-17 at Stanford Stadium.
Olson threw three of his five touchdown passes in the second half, and former Marin Catholic star Kahlil Bell ran for career-high 195 yards.
T.C. Ostrander, who taking the quarterback reins from Trent Edwards threw for a career high 331 yards, as he went 27-for-59 on the afternoon
Ostrander also threw two touchdowns, including a 70-yard touchdown pass to Richard Sherman.
NOTES: After a bye next week, the Cardinal return to the field on September 15, when the San Jose Spartans come to Stanford Stadium.
