With one second left in the game, the Arizona Wildcats' Lamont Jones made the winning basket, 71-69, over the Stanford Cardinal in ending their 3-game losing streak.

The results put Stanford in a tie with Washington State for now, with Arizona tied with UCLA.

Despite Cardinal's Landry Fields' 10 for 18 shooting from the field, with two 3-pointers, 6 rebounds and 2 steals, and not knowing how to answer how he thought he played at first, Fields' came to the conclusion through, "...free throws, didn't execute, and five turnovers...didn't have a good game."

In the first half, down by 11, 16-27, Stanford used a 15-0 run to propel them to the lead with more than half of the points, 8, coming from Jeremy Green, as kept the lead for the rest of the first half, with the last shot of the half coming from Fields.

There were 3 ties during the second half.

To start it, after 2 missed free throws by the Wildcats' Derrick Williams, he got them back, as he stole the ball on the opposite end of the court and Jarrett Mann fouled him. The shots were followed by a 3-pointer from the Wildcats' Jamelle Horne, which brought the game to within 2. Two plays later, the game was again within 2. Arizona's Kyle Fogg then tied the game at 42 at 17:00, but Andrew Zimmerman gave the Cardinal back the lead. This was part of a 11-0 run in which Mann added 4 points and Fields added 5, including one from beyond the arc. The Wildcats then went on a 9-0 run capped by a 3-pointer by Solomon Hill, until Fields ended the run with a basket. Arizona used a 5-0 run to bring the game back to within 3, with 3 points coming from Jones. Jones then fouled Fields who missed both free throws, with Williams making a layup to for a one-point difference in the game, 63-62. Mann made one of his two free throws to make it 64-62, but Hill made a jumper to retie the game at 64 with 4:37 left. Fields subsequently responded with a basket and drew the foul, but missed the shot from the line. The Wildcats' Brendon Lavender made 1 of 2 free throws to make the score 66-65. Fields responded with a crucial 3-pointer to make the score 69-65. Williams got it back though, with a basket and a free throw to make it 69-68. With 30.3 seconds left, Williams drew a foul and made one of his two shots to tie the game at 69. Trotter than missed a dunk and Jones made the basket right before time expired.

Game notes: Fields has now hit double-digit points in 30 consecutive games. Arizona moved to 2-3 in chances to sweep Pac-10 opponents this season. For 284 consecutive games, Stanford has made a 3-pointer. Stanford will play host to their rival and conference leader California Golden Bears for the regular season finale, Saturday at 3pm.
