The last time the UCLA Bruins went undefeated at home none of the players in uniform for the Bruins and the Stanford Cardinal were even born.

It was John Wooden’s last season as head coach that the Bruins went undefeated at Pauley Pavilion, and the year was 1975.

That same season, the Bruins would go on to defeat the University of Kentucky Wildcats in the championship game 92-85 at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Fast forward 32 years, and the Bruins led by Arron Afflalo’s 20 points, the Bruins made it a perfect 16-0 on the home slate with a 75-61 victory over the Cardinal.

If you include the end of last season, the Bruins have actually won 20 consecutive home games.

Brook Lopez led the Cardinal with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Lawrence Hill added 13 for the Cardinal, who committed 16 turnovers and have also lost four out of their last six games.

The Cardinal cut the Bruins once insurmountable lead down to 60-51, but the Bruins got three pointers from Afflalo and Michael Roll too put the game out of reach.
