It was a trip to forget to the Evergreen State of Washington for the Stanford Cardinal.
Just one week after going wire-to-wire against the California Golden Bears, the Cardinal traveled to Pullman, where they shot a season-low 28 percent and defeated by the Washington State Cougars.
Things did not fare any better against the Washington Huskies, a team that the Cardinal defeated last month at Maples Pavilion.
Spencer Hawes scored 18 points and Jon Brockman added 16 to lead the Huskies to a 64-52 victory over the Cardinal at Bank of America Arena.
Lawrence Hill, who in the game versus the Cougars went 0-for-10 from the field scored 15 to lead the Cardinal; however it was not enough, as the Cardinal have lost three out of their last four games since upsetting the UCLA Bruins at Maples Pavilion on January 28.
Actually, the three losses in this four game stretch are all to teams from the State of Washington.
The Cardinal lost to the Gonzaga Bulldogs in their last home game on January 31, before defeating CAL on February 3 and then lost back-to-back games to the Cougars and the Huskies.
In the 78-77 victory over the Huskies on January 11, Brook and Robin Lopez combined to score 29 points; however the freshmen twins were held to just 13 points in the rematch.
