It may have taken seven years, but the Stanford Cardinal have finally won on the campus of the University of Washington.

Brook Lopez scored a career high 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, as the Cardinal defeated the Washington Huskies 65-51.

This was the first win by the Cardinal at Hec Edmundson Pavilion since the Cardinal defeated the Huskies on January 25,2001, when they were ranked number one.

That Cardinal team made it all the way to the Elite Eight, where they would eventually be eliminated by the Maryland Terrapins in the West Regional Final at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California.

Lopez was the only Cardinal player to top the double figure plateau, as the next highest point total by a member of the Cardinal was Seattle native Mitch Johnson and Landry Fields, who both scored eight points in the 14-point victory for the visitors.

The 14-point loss by the Huskies was the worst loss on their home court since the Gonzaga Bulldogs destroyed them by 24 points on December 3, 2003.
