Stanford last minute rally falls short

Pullman, WA – Despite Stanford putting up a strong comeback effort in the final five minutes of the game againt Washington, the Cardinal went home with another road loss, 77-73. Washington rode the deficit through the final minutes and held on for the win.

Stanford (8-9,2-3)finishes their pacific northwest road trip today as they moves down below a .500 average in the overall and pac-10 standings with this loss. They scored a very low 36% field goal and three point shooting today. Stanford committed 22 fouls today vs. Washington States 17.

Jeremy Green put up a much stronger game than the night before, scoring only seven points in his last outing. Today Green put up 24 points, and was a key player in the last minute comeback attempt, putting up a full 12 of those points.

Landry Fields brought 18 points and 10 rebounds to the game, putting up another consistent performance, but not enough to lead the way to victory. Jack Trotter had another strong game with 12 points today.

Stanford returns to home to take on the Oregon teams starting Thursday Jan 21st against Oregon State at 7pm. They will then play Oregon on Saturday the 23rd at 5pm.
