Berkeley, CA – Even with Landry Fields and Jeremy Green breaking 20 points in the game, Stanford couldn’t come together to put up a challenging offense tonight, as Cal put up a higher scoring, dominant game. Stanford’s record moves to (6-7, 0-1 Pac-10)
Jeremy Green put up 23 points for the night and Landry Fields scored his sixth double-double of the year with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Fields has quite the record going at the moment; he is up to nine consecutive 20-pt games. The last Stanford player to do this was in 1960. Jeremy Green has scored double figures in the last 11 straight games.
Cal put up 59.6% shooting compared to the Cardinal 41% Overall.
Cal owned the game after they went up by double figures about halfway through the first half. Stanford made an effort in the early second half to cut the lead, but Cal responded quickly and regained the large lead.
Stanford has now lost their last three Pac-10 Openers since 2007.
