Sportstalk: After a rather impressive win last Thursday at Pullman 93-88 over the Washington State Cougars who have been a tough customer in their last few games the Bears moved on for their next game and went to Seattle and lost to the Washington Huskies who took care of business 84-69. A disappointed Mike Montgomery said it was a different game of defense against a club that was just simply lights out offensively all night. Where do you see the differences of the two games?

Well, it's hard for me to see the differences, since the WSU game was not televised....but, clearly, Jerome Randle scored 44 points and had 10 assists over the weekend. Unfortunately, 39 points and 9 assists were against WSU, and 5 points and 1 assist (and 8 turnovers) were against Washington. And, they really couldn't have even afforded to have him move some of those Pullman points over. Cal lost in Washington, of all places, at the free throw line. They took 50 free throws and missed 18, losing by 15. They missed 13 in the first half, when the game was actually lost. Failure to take care of the rock, and failure to capitalize on opportunities to score when the clock was stopped (which is how you get back into games when you trail by 20) cost them any chance of winning at Washington.

Sportstalk: Look at the offense for the Bears they lit up the scoreboard individually after these numbers you would have at least thought the game would be a little closer, 36 for Patrick Christopher, Theo Robertson 32, and Jerome Randall 44. Question with that effort it's enough to drive anyone on the club nuts, but none the less are you impressed by the Big Three's effort?

The starting seniors in Pullman scored 89 of the 93 points. That's impressive no matter where it happens. Christopher tried to carry the team on his back Saturday, but even his 25 weren't enough -- because in second place Saturday was D. J. Seeley, basically about the 9th or 10th guy in Monty's rotation when the team is healthy.

Sportstalk: Oregon 10-7 (2-3) is coming to Cal on Thursday 21st with a three game losing streak, does this make the Ducks more dangerous knowing that they want to put an end to the streak and trying to snap that streak on the road? Also do you see Cal being able to shut down the Ducks?

No. Yes.
