Ryan Anderson enjoyed one of his best days of the season Saturday, as the sophomore forward scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Golden Bears past Oregon State 69-53 in a Pac-10 men’s basketball game at Corvallis, Ore.

Cal (11-4 overall, 2-2 Pac-10), which earned a split of their weekend trip to Oregon, is 11-1 against the Beavers under Coach Ben Braun. It was the sixth consecutive loss for Oregon State, which shot 33 percent from the field.

Patrick Christopher and Jerome Randle added 11 points each for the Bears, with DeVon Hardin contributing eight points and seven rebounds..

Oregon State (6-10, 0-4) was led by Marcel Jones with 12 points and Seth Tarver with 11. C.J. Giles and Josh Tarver added nine points apiece for the Beavers. Josh Tarver also had five steals.

After the Golden Bears took an early 14-4 lead, Oregon State went on a 13-2 run to briefly take a 22-16 lead. In the next two minutes following a Cal time out, Anderson connected on two 3-pointers, Eric Vierneisel canned a trey and two foul shots, and Christopher and Randle made jumpers, collaborating on a 10-5 run that put the Bears up 31-22. Cal never trailed again.

Cal led by as many as 18 in the second half, but the Beavers pulled to within eight on a C.J. Giles basket with 1:04 to play.

The Bears return home to Haas Pavilion on Thursday to host Arizona State. The University of Arizona visits Cal next Saturday.
