Another cool, clear evening at the Oakland Coliseum as the Mariners and A’s squared off for game two of the 2010 season. Dallas Braden made his first start since last August when he went on the disabled list as he had nerve damage to his left foot.

Braden was stellar as he pitched seven innings giving up but one run and 4 hits. He threw 91 pitches and had a career high of 10 strikeouts. Quite a night. The Mariners’ Ian Snell was also quite effective as he pitched 6 innings and allowed but 3 hits and one run.

Seattle scored first in the 4th inning when Franklin Gutierrez doubled with one out and then advanced to third base when Braden on a balk. Gutierrez then scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the fourth, Kurt Suzuki led of with a homerun. It was his first hit of the season and the first extra base hit for the A’s this season and the inning ended with the score knotted at one apiece. The score remained tied until the bottom of the 10th. Kouzmanoff led off with a single and was moved to second on a single by Kurt Suzuki. Mark Ellis then singled sharply to right field with two men out to seal the A’s first win of the season.
