Manny with the Dodgers

L.A. Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez has to feel lucky that he landed with a great organization like the Dodgers. Ramirez, a hispanic player born in the Dominican Republic, Spanish is his main language.

Talking with Dodgers broadcaster Jaime Jarrin of Spanish radio, Ramirez said he was extremely happy and that he was looking forward to ending his career with the Dodgers.

It's not only because he's hit a couple of homers and driven in a bunch of runs since arriving in Los Angeles, also it's because Ramirez feels at home and L.A. is a very hispanic city. He feels at home.

Ramirez landed in the best place possible. The media in Los Angeles is not like the media in Boston or New York. It's more relaxed. When the season ends, the Dodgers and a few teams will be making an offer for Ramirez' services.

It's doubtful that he will go any place. Ramirez has found the perfect place for him to play his last years. The 36-year-old might have another five or six years to play. Playing in the National League, Ramirez can no longer relax as a designated hitter.

The Red Sox are not as good without Ramirez. They cannot take a bat of that quality out of the lineup and expect the same results.

It's unfortunate for Mr. Shapiro, the brilliant young general manager of the Red Sox who has brought that team two titles in the last few years. It is unfortunate that Ramirez and Jack McCormick, the Red Sox traveling secretary, got into a scuffle over ticket allotment in Houston, an incident that set the trade in motion for Ramirez.

Ramirez had also had some fall outs with Kevin Youkilis and manager Terry Francona.

The happiest people in the world are the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. The Yankees have a shot to win it and do not count them out with some 50 games left. The Yankees are extremely happy that Ramirez left Boston and so are the Rays.

Favre likely to become Bucaneer: Brett Favre who is one of the best quarterbacks ever will never suit up with the Green Bay Packers again and looks to be headed for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers.

Favre is not just popular in Green Bay, but also all over the country. Most people are rooting for Favre to start the season. Why not? He still feels he can play. How many quarterbacks in the NFL have the ability of Brett Favre?

Favre is expected to be in top form and he's hoping to have a great pre-season. This is a quality quarterback and is a future Hall of Famer who is in great shape. The Pack wanted to make Favre the number two, which is almost like a slap in the face.
