49ers Preview
Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4) at San Francisco 49ers (4-6)
Nov. 29, 1 p.m.
Radio KNBR-AM 680
TV – CBS 5
History Lesson: The Jags have played the Niners twice in their brief history and won both contests – each in Florida. This will be the Jags first trip to Candlestick Park…In their last game on 12/17/05, Jacksonville QB David Garrard rushed for a TD in a 10-9 win… Last week the Jaguars whipped the Bills 18-15… SF lost 30-24 at Green Bay.
The Good Guys: If they have any hope of reaching the playoffs, the Niners are gonna need this one. After starting the season 3-1, they have gone 1-5 since… The Niners finished strong under coach Mike Singletary last season and need a carbon copy finish to reach the money rounds… TE Vernon Davis is tied for the lead in the NFL with 8 TD receptions… When QB Alex Smith has a 95 passer rating the Niners are 5-0…
The Bad Guys: Bay Area product Maurice Jones-Drew will lead the Jags offense attack. The East Bay raised RB is quick and powerful and already has 13 TDs and 926 total rushing yards… QB Garrard is second on the squad with 8 TDs… WR Mike Sims-Walker is just over 100 yards away from becoming the Jags first 800 yard receiver since 2005.
