History Lesson: In their last meeting, (12/10/06) WR Donald Driver snagged 9 balls for 160 yards as Green Bay snubbed the Niners 30-19… The Packers have beat San Francisco six straight times and have a 32-16-1 all-time series lead… Last week the Green & Gold upset the Cowboys 17-7, whiles the Scarlet & Gold edged the Bears 10-6.

The Good Guys: Continued excellent play by third year LB Patrick Willis could mean the difference between a W or L. Green Bay likes to play the middle of the gridiron, which of course is Willis’ domain… RB Frank Gore has a rushing TD in three straight games… WR Josh Morgan moves into the starting lineup, replacing vet Issac Bruce… TE Vernon Davis has 45 catches and 7 TDs

The Bad Guys: Strong-armed former Cal QB Aaron Rodgers leads the Packers offense. The NorCal product has thrown for 2,444 yards and 17 TDs in his second year as Green Bay starter… With vets Charles Woodson and Al Harris manning the CB slots, Green Bay defends the passing game as well as anyone in the pro game and could make life difficult for SF QB Alex Smith… Third generation NFL player, rookie LB Clay Matthews has four sacks… RB Ryan Grant has totaled 700 yards… Old nemesis WR Donald Driver leads the Pack with 41 receptions.

Coaches Corner:

49ers head honcho Mike Singletary on what it will take to stop the Packers offense:

“I think we just have to execute. You are exactly right, they have a good quarterback that can run around a little bit. They have good skill people that can run after the catch. But I think it is really important for us to be where we need to be and do a better job tackling and just executing overall as a defense.”
