San Francisco’s quarterback Alex Smith faces the team he separated his shoulder against the Seattle Seahawks in a prime-time game on Monday Night at Qwest Field in Seattle.
Both teams are below pre-season expectations but may just need to get back to the basics.
For the Seahawks, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and the passing game are doing better than Shaun Alexander and the running game.
The Seahawks allow opponents an average of 102 yards a game on the ground.
Alexander is slated to play despite injuring his knee against the Cleveland Browns last week. He hasn’t had a touchdown in 6 consecutive games. Seattle is also hoping to have Marcus Pollard and Deion Branch back by this contest.
San Francisco is hoping to get back their man Frank Gore. He has yet to have an 100-yard game this season.
The 49ers have yet to pass for 200 yards. Averaging 11.2 points during their losing streak and 13 overall, they are the NFL’s worst offense.
Predictions: Supporters of SF seem to be dwindling down as Seattle is picked to win by 92% of Yahoo! Sports’ Pro Football Pick’em users, all 5 of Yahoo! Sports’ experts, and sportingnews.com fan blogs by a score of 35-6.
