49ers offense should demo Browns

SANTA CLARA--Watching Sunday's game between the Browns versus the Seahawks which Cleveland won 6-3 I'm not sure if I was watching the Indians versus the Mariners in that one. The victory for Cleveland (3-3) was in a low scoring game, now when two good teams are playing a 6-3 game you would assume it was a great defensive battle.

When you have two teams like Cleveland who will be at Candlestick Park this Sunday against the 49ers who had a bye this Sunday and Seattle you would have to say it was just an ugly, ugly game. These were not good teams but Seattle should have been a little better than Cleveland but the Browns have not been playing that well either who lost to Oakland two Sundays ago.

So this was really a dog fest at the dog pound of ugly dogs. These teams are not good and a 6-3 score kind of shows it and it was probably uglier for Seattle than it was for Cleveland this is a game where the Seahawks have traveled east and they have had some success against the Giants in New Jersey just a few weeks ago 36-25.

The Seahawks showed relatively good confidence that they could go into Cleveland and beat a team that were certainly no where near as good as the Giants. Cleveland managed to control this team from the get go and the Browns had the ball for 42 minutes and the Hawks held the ball for only 17.

It was just a ridiculously lopsided game in terms of possession time just think of that 42 minutes that is ridiculous that's more than two thirds of the game with the ball in Cleveland's hands. The other thing the Hawks have to be disappointed about is the fact that they came in that game with the number one rush defense in the NFL.

The Seahawks allowed 104 yards rushing to a pretty mediocre club and not only a pretty mediocre Cleveland team a Cleveland team that doesn't have much of a threat in the passing game. So you have to figure if they can't catch the ball you should just throw it up and stop the run Seattle couldn't even do that.

Good news for 49ers fans is the fact that Seattle who is their main competition in the NFC West laid a big egg against the 49ers next opponent the Cleveland Browns. Now as far as the 49ers coming into Candlestick next week against this team the Browns are not a good running or passing team. They only have 178 yards passing and have 20 completions.

So the Browns are a team that can only get the ball when they're down field and need a short first. They have to put together a really really long drive in order to be successful against the 49ers defense that's not going to be easy for Cleveland.

While the Seattle defense was pretty good the 49ers have a better defense overall from top to bottom, they have a better pass rush and they're just more confident. Coming off two weeks worth of rest they'll be raring to go against this Cleveland team. Knowing Cleveland is not a threat to pass down field it's really going to be tight for Cleveland and the 49ers are going to load up inside they don't have to worry too much about players getting behind them on defense.

The 49ers secondary can cheat up a little bit that's really going to be difficult for the Browns and that's going to really make it easy for the 49ers to get pressure on the quarterback and to stop the run game. That's the biggest thing for the 49ers that their defense has a great chance to stop a very poor Cleveland offense.
