San Francisco 49ers (3-2) at Houston Texans (3-3)
Sunday, Oct. 24, 1 p.m.
Radio KNBR-AM 680
TV – FOX 2
History Lesson: The 49ers and Texans have met just once previously, with San Francisco securing a 20-17 home win in week 17 of the 2005 season when PK Joe Nedney hit a 33-yard field goal in overtime… The 49ers had last week off, while the Texans whipped Cincinnati on the road 28-17.
The Bad Guys: Houston’s Matt Schaub has turned into one of the game’s best QB’s. In the past five week’s he has thrown for 1,644 yards, 14 TDs and just four INTs… The 3-3 Texans have not won back to back games this season… WR Andre Johnson leads the Texans with 36 catches and 572 yards… RB Steve Slaton has 274 yards on 91 carries… Houston has won five straight games vs. the NFC.
The Good Guys: After his prolonged holdout, WR Michael Crabtree will make his first appearance in an NFL game as a starter… Standout RB Frank Gore makes his return after missing two games with an ankle… Gore has the most rushing yards in the NFL (4,074) since 2006… Veteran LS Brian Jennings will have played in every NFL stadium after playing in Houston on Sunday… DE Justin Smith has played Houston three times in his career and won each contest.
