History: In Week 8 of last season Seneca Wallace threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns to lead Seattle to a 34-13 win, pinning a loss on Mike Singletary in his debut as NFL head coach… In that contest Singletary sent TE Vernon Davis to the locker room in mid-game for non-hustle… The Northwest Green Birds have won nine of the past 12 contests vs. SF and lead the all-time series 11-9…

The Good Guys: With last week’s 20-16 win at Arizona, Shaun Hill ran his record as a starter to 8-3… Last week Hill was 19-of-31, for 209 yards and a TD… CB Nate Clements who snagged his first INT of the season in the opener, will have his eyes glued to Seattle’s Matt Hasselbeck’s heaves. The Seahawks starting QB has tossed 12 INTs in his last eight games… RB Frank Gore is looking for his break out game. Last week he carried the rock 22 times and reached pay dirt once, but gained just 30 yards overall… Last week WR Isaac Bruce caught four balls for 74 yards… TE Vernon Davis had five catches for 40 yards.

The Bad Guys: TE John Carson has become a go to guy for Hasselbeck. The second year player out of Notre Dame grabbed a pair of TDs and led Seattle with six catches for 95 yards… RB Julius Jones scampered for 117 yards and a TD on 19 carries… Veteran back-up Edgerrin James leads all active RB with 12, 151 yards… WR Nate Burleson had seven catches and a TD for 74 yards in a blowout of the Rams.

Coaches Corner:

Mike Singletary on the Seattle D:

“They’re running to the ball. They’re fast. [Patrick] Kerney is healthy on the outside, the new kid, [Aaron] Curry, that they just drafted, he’s coming off the edge. They’ve got a lot of speed and they’re going to the football. They’re running. They’re getting off the ball, doing a lot of things well – very aggressive. For us, we just have to make sure that we have a great week’s work and we understand exactly what we need to do. We have to match their tempo going into the game and be ready to play a very physical football team.”
