SANTA CLARA--One day after it was officially announced by the San Francisco 49ers that team General Manager Scott McCloughan would be dismissed from the team for personal reasons McCloughan talked with Sirius radio and said the issues were related to family life and that being away from his family caused needs and he wanted to get back to that.

"Family needs to come first and I lost sight of that with my position at the 49ers, I will be back in the league at some point and be very successful." said McCloughan.

Talk about McCloughan's departure was front and center topic despite the signing of offensive guard Chester Pitts at the 49ers offices. Pitts comes to the 49ers after spending eight seasons with the Houston Texans. This week he was being shopped by the Seahawks and Lions and settled on the Niners but was asked about arriving at a peculiar time when the General Manager just got fired, "Things happen, it's a business, people come and people go. Based on what I'm hearing, he just needed time, everybody has things going on in their lives." said Pitts.
